| The 61 Drive In is a drive-in theatre that is located about five miles south of Maquoketa, Iowa, United States. It is located off of U.S. Highway 61 and State Highway 136, and can be accessed from highway 61 by taking exit 153. The 61 Drive In is one of four such theatres still left in Iowa (as of 2007; the others are in Centerville, Newton and Grandview). The theatre is owned by Dennis Voy - who also owns the KMAQ AM/FM radio stations and VOY 3 Theatres, both based in Maquoketa. The theatre is open during the summer months, and usually shows two first run movies. The theatre uses a low power radio transmitter to provide the movie soundtrack. As a result, patrons either use a portable radio, or their vehicle's radio system to listen to the movie. There is a snack bar on site. | Interact in our Discussion
